Interesting.

Its fun to read articles that people post and stand by 100%. Its also funny how your views change when you are put in the situation. As in being a business owner or having children. I just read this article from Facebook and really couldn't disagree more with her.
The gist of the article is that women need more time off after they have a baby and it should be paid time off.
However this would be nice, amazing and so awesome to have 6 months off of work paid but so unrealistic.
Maybe its because I'm a business owner and find the unemployment, insurance, taxes and all the other expenses you have with owning your own business crazy I can't even image paying someone for not working for 6 months and who's to say they will even come back after that?
She referenced other countries and how much they give but she didn't mention how much they are taxed some over 50%. It makes it a little more understandable when more then half of your money goes to the government why they can pay out more.
Can you imagine all the teenagers working at McDonald's getting 6 months paid maternity? People in the US already pop out kids like nobodies business so don't give them even more of a reason. Maybe the reader didn't take into account all the babies the United States produces.
She also stated that maybe people would just give up on working and use Welfare. If you haven't noticed that's Americans favorite thing to do. I have people work for me for a week, it doesn't work out and they want unemployment??? What the heck? Then I get a letter in the mail that they are also applying for food stamps.
Americans have gotten SO good at using the system its insane!
They know exactly how long long to work somewhere to get unemployment and know how to hurt themselves just right to get disability.
So in my opinion No you shouldn't get more time off paid...
My opinion is a savings that comes from you check. If your planning on having children then they take a certain amount out of your check. Maybe $50 each check?
Who knows all I know is that as a business owner I do not want to pay someone for not working and not bringing in money for my company.
Maybe that's just me.
Maybe that's a little harsh?
A little to the point?
But really imagine it was you having to pay someone for 6-or 9 months and not getting any revenue from them.
I think your view would be a little different!
Any maybe mine would be if I wasn't a stay at home mom?
What do you think?

On a Less intense note.
My sweet little London is doing so good.
Her hands are healing well and she is almost back to her normal self!
Today the twins enjoyed their pool!
So Cute!!

And their first Bike ride yesterday!

Can't forget the new curtains I made.

And I am coloring my hair similar to this....On Friday!

The Zoo

A few weeks ago I took the twins to the Zoo.
I had never been to Hoggle Zoo and unfortunately they weren't to interested.
They are at the age where they want to explore but can't walk and are more interested in the kids running around them the huge animals!
Silly babies!

London Loves Mac & Cheese! Thats whats all over her!
 They Love Carly!

Oh London! Throwing one of her fits! You would think I just hurt her? Nope just wouldn't let her crawl...

My Poor Little Londy

Sunday the 7th, the day the twins turned 13 months London burnt both of her hands on our fireplace.
It was such a horrible thing and how I wish I could of went back in time and never turned it on.
The night before we had out AC on because it was warm, the next morning was only in the 50's so our house was in the low 60's so I turned on the fireplace to warm it up.
It had been on maybe 15 or so minutes and I felt it to see how hot it was. It was warm but nothing I thought was to alarming. (Our fireplace is a gas fireplace with a glass piece covering the fire)
A short time later I was playing on the floor with the babies and Jay was on the couch finishing up some work. I had just been playing superman with London and she wanted to get down. Not really paying attention and still on the floor playing with Zayden I hear London let out a Blood Curdling scream and instantly I knew she had touched the fireplace. I grabbed her and ran to the sink and held her little hands under cold water and then put frozen peas on them.
Jay started looking on google to see how to treat it and to us it looked like a first degree burn it was red but nothing crazy. I gave her some medicine made her a bottle and rocked her. But she was hysterical and would not calm down.
After about 15 minutes we took her to the ER which thankfully is just down the street and they treated her there.
They had to rupture the blisters because they were so full that they didn't want them to break on their own and get infected.
In order to do this they had to sedate her.
She was treated with a medicine that keeps her awake but she is basically in LaLa land.
I don't do well with things like that so Jay stayed in the room while I took care of Zayden.
They got her all cleaned up and the next day we took her down to the burn center at the University Hospital and they cut away any dead skin that was remaining and re bandaged her.
This happened a week ago and she has surprisingly been doing really well.
The first night was harder because she could use her hands. So I had to hold her, feed her, rock her, hold her bottle etc. Which was hard because she was like a newborn and I still had Z.
She has been is such great spirits and gets around like you wouldn't believe! She is such a little trooper and I love her so much!!

 Out of it...

Where does the time go?

The twins are such little characters lately. So much personality crammed into such little bodies.
Its been to long sense my last post and I really need to get caught up because a lot has happened in these last few weeks!
I photographed a wedding.
I know I know, I said I wouldn't photograph another but sometimes its just to hard to say no to money.
Here are a few shots of the bride.
Loved her dress!
I have to admit it was a pretty entertaining wedding and lots of good food and entertainment!

I have also been doing quite a few shoots for my amazing friend/Lash girl Allison.
She is so amazing at lashes and I have yet to see someone else work as good as her!
She is amazing and if your thinking of getting them done shes the best!
I mean look how awesome my lashes looked during my C-Section!
Here is a shot of one of the girls we photographed!
She is wearing the full set of lashes.
------------------

We also took a trip to Boise!
Jay was wanting to visit his family so we packed up the babes and drove there.
The twins did NOT do well on the way there.
We had them in their forward facing car seats so they could see the TV but they just weren't having it.
Sense they are forward facing its hard for them to sleep in them without their little heads flopping all over so about an hour into our drive we turned them around.
Well they didn't like that either.
In my car I have the mirrors where they can see me and I think sense they were in a car they hardly ride in without their mirrors they were struggling.
So they cried for about an hour and then FINALLY gave in and slept the rest of the way.
While in Boise we stayed with Jay's mom and really didn't do much other then hang out with family.
It is so nice to be around family, I got to sleep in, go to the store and just relax because grandma and the cousins were keeping them entertained.
It was such a nice break!
Eating rocks...

Those lashes are ALL NATURAL! Such a lucky girl!

 The twins still aren't walking.
And really they aren't very interested. They will walk along furniture, push walking toys, stand by themselves for a few seconds but when it comes to actually walking they want nothing to do with it.
I really want them to walk....main reason? so they will stop ruining their clothes!

We also go to spend time with Jays sister. Her little girl is so cute and the twins Loved playing with her!
So was so good with them and even shared to favorite Princesses with London!

Such a fun little getaway, and so nice to see the family!

Last but not least the twins turned 13 months!
This is just so crazy to me and I can't believe that we've come this far!
The twins are turning into each others little buddies.
Where one goes the other follows.
They have started eating more foods and less milk.
they LOVE being outside and love going for walks in their wagon.
For the most part they are still in their infant car seats.
I prefer them because I can go places easier alone.
I can just put both car seats in the cart otherwise only one fits in the cart...
They still like baby Einstein but not as much as they once did.
Zayden has started to get more stubborn and lets you know when he doesn't like something by grunting.
If I tell him no, he grunts at me. He is such a hoot.
London is still all girl but isn't as sensitive. She's still sensitive but not as dramatic as she was.
She will still wear headbands but with her ever growing hair its getting harder for them to stay in place.
I have started making clips which are really cute to, I'm just having a little anxiety about her not wearing headbands anymore. :(
I officially switched the babes to whole milk a few days ago and they have done great.
I tried to do half and half about a month or so ago but their bodies weren't really agreeing with it so I decided to wait until they were a year gestational age.
As of right now, I am weening them off bottles.
Maybe weening isn't the right word its more cold turkey. I started a bad habit when they were little that I would give them a bottle going to bed.
I was desperate for sleep and it worked so I did it.
I would always put them down for bed with a bottle and 90% of the time they would drink it and go right to sleep.
Last night I decided to not give them a bottle and just a sippy of water and they did good.
No complaining and went right to bed.
However, as I type this Zayden is screaming and London gave up only about 15 minutes ago.
I don't think it will be fun but hopefully it only takes a few days.
Other then that the twins are growing and leaning new things all the time!
I can't believe how big they are when I look back at pictures of them as newborns!
Crazy!

Something.

There's something about the way you feel when your all dressed us. Make up done, hair done just right that makes you feel like your on top of the world.
I feel like every mom, or woman for that matter needs to have a photo shoot of them selves.
Some how, some way doing a photo shoot brings me back to life.
Gets me out of a slump and makes me feel like everything's going to be ok.
I remember being pregnant and people telling me that once these babies come I wouldn't have an identity anymore. That they would be my identity.
And it does happen. I feel like if I'm at the grocery store without my kids and someone is talking with me I feel like I need to shout that I have kids at home, that I'm a mom and can relate to exactly what they are talking about.
When I don't have my babies with me I miss them terribly and think about them constantly.
It must just be in our genetic make up to be the way we are.
So sometimes I like to just be me.
I like to have a good time and talk silly nonsense with my best friend. I like to talk about old times and the crazy things we used to say and do.
I like to just be a girl and not necessarily a mom and the way I do that is in a photo shoot.
The best part about pictures is you can be whoever you want.
If you want to be crazy with wild hard and lots of make up, you can and it almost always works for pictures.
So Yesterday Nicole and I went outside my house and took a few pictures.
I wore a pair of my favorite shoes that are hard to wear with the twins and a favorite top that I love but have no where to wear it to.
So hears to Me!
